Factors That Influence Custom Apparel Costs
Several variables shape every custom apparel quote: the garment you select, the quantity you order, the artwork and printing requirements, and the product category. A heavyweight cotton tee, a performance polo, and a hi-vis safety garment are priced differently because the blanks themselves cost different amounts and print differently.
Garment Selection
The blank garment is the starting point. A Gildan 5000 Heavy Cotton tee is a different price point than a Gildan 64000L Softstyle women's tee or a M&O Knits polo. Each product page lists the garment's specs so you can compare apples to apples before quoting.
Order Quantity
Quantity is the biggest single lever on per-unit cost. Larger orders spread setup and production across more units, so the per-shirt price drops as volume rises. That's why our standard T-shirt pricing is tiered by quantity.
Artwork and Printing Requirements
The number of print locations (front, back, sleeve), the size of the design, and artwork preparation all affect the quote. More placements and larger prints mean more film, powder, and press time per garment.
Different Product Categories
T-shirts, hoodies, polos, jerseys, and hi-vis are all priced differently because the underlying blanks differ. A hoodie uses far more fabric than a tee, and a hi-vis safety garment includes reflective materials. Each category is quoted on its own merits.
Standard T-Shirt Quantity Pricing
For standard T-shirt printing, our verified quantity pricing tiers are: 1–4 shirts at $25 each, 5–9 at $20 each, 10–19 at $17.50 each, 20–49 at $15 each, 50–99 at $12.50 each, and 100+ at $10 each.
These tiers apply to standard T-shirt printing specifically. They do not apply to every garment or printing configuration — hoodies, polos, jerseys, and hi-vis are quoted separately, as are non-standard print placements or artwork. Final pricing is confirmed in your itemized quote.
Bulk Order Considerations
For large-volume orders, include your complete size breakdown and colour mix in the quote request. The more precise your specifications, the more accurate the quote — and the smoother the production run.
